We notify you about expiry dates on your domains and we can also alert you if your registrar (who you bought your domain from), registrant data (who the domain is registered to), or nameservers change so you know ASAP if it's been transferred or hijacked without your knowledge

Email, Slack (webhook or OAuth), SMS via Twilio, and signed HTTPS webhooks for anything custom. You pick per-team — most people start with email and add Slack once the first scare lands.

How is this different from a reminders app or an uptime monitor?

It's not either, really. A reminders app only fires when you set it to — it has no idea if anything's actually changed. We re-check the registry (RDAP) every hour and alert you the moment something changes without you lifting a finger, like your registrar, registrant, or nameserver details. And unlike uptime or SSL monitors, we're not watching whether your site is up — we're watching who owns the domain. Think of us as sitting alongside a tool like Uptime Kuma, not replacing it.

What about domains with WHOIS privacy turned on — can you still see who owns them?

Not always, and we won't pretend otherwise. When WHOIS/RDAP privacy is enabled — which is most domains these days — the registrant's actual contact details are hidden from us, and from everyone else, which also means we can't always tell if that hidden data changes. That's exactly why we don't rely on it: add as many of your own alert addresses as you like, even on the free plan, so renewal and change notices always reach someone who's actually watching.

Can Domain Dodo actually save us money?

Two ways. Recovering a lapsed domain from a squatter usually runs into the hundreds or thousands — catching it before expiry avoids that entirely. And once every domain is in one list, it gets a lot easier to spot the ones you're still auto-renewing but no longer use, and cancel before the next bill.

How do I add my team?

Invite by email from Team Settings. Invitations are valid for seven days. Existing Domain Dodo accounts can join straight in; new users sign up free.

Can I track competitor or partner domains?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Anything with public RDAP data works — useful for keeping an eye on a competitor name you'd like first refusal on, or a partner domain you depend on.
